DAVE FRIEDERS
In my early years I worked at a Coffee House in Aurora IL and wrote a column for a Folk Music Magazine in the early 1960s. While serving in the U.S. Army in the mid 1960s, I was a Program Director and Staff announcer in the Far East for Armed Forces Radio, and Editor at the Army Hometown News Center.

I joined WSPY in 1988 as an announcer and board operator and have had many hats throughout the years and currently I do production, news, weather and as an on air talent for the radio station.

I’m active in my church, St. John the Baptist in Somonauk and have been married to my wife, Joan (Felstead), since 1973. We have two daughters, Carol Frieders, and Christina who is married to Brad MacKenzie and two beautiful granddaughters, Jorja and Allyse.
